Dr. Tawfik Ta’ama, a researcher and political analyst specializing in American affairs and Middle East issues, stated that the United States is marketing its military strike on Iran as successful, but facts and international reports indicate the exact opposite.
During a phone intervention with journalist Rasha Magdy on the “Sabah El Balad” program, broadcast on Sada El Balad channel, he added that US President Donald Trump explicitly announced that the strike completely destroyed Iranian nuclear facilities and celebrated this before American and Israeli public opinion. However, according to Ta’ama, this promotion is purely political, aimed at registering an achievement in his electoral record at a time when the US administration is suffering from sharp internal division over this operation.
Ta’ama affirmed that the strike did not achieve its strategic objectives, pointing out that the Fordow nuclear facility, located deep within the mountains, cannot be destroyed by the American bombs used, including the “B2” and “GBU-57.” He stated that what happened was merely partial destruction, noting that Iran had preempted the strike by removing uranium materials and storing them elsewhere.
Ta’ama stressed that the United States has not decided the battle, and all talk of the operation’s success is merely political propaganda, asserting that Iran still retains its basic nuclear infrastructure and that talk of complete destruction is inaccurate.
Ta’ama revealed that the real goal of the strike is not only to halt the nuclear program but to overthrow the entire Iranian regime, pointing out that Trump has begun to speak explicitly about “regime change,” and meetings are being held in Congress with Iranian opposition figures hostile to Tehran’s rule.
Ta’ama emphasized that the approach pursued by the Trump administration is to “inflate chaos” in the region, noting that this path serves Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who seeks to dismantle the region and tear apart the unity of Arab states, which he described as a “strategic interest for Israel.”
